Art Club - Term 2
Term Theme: Papatūānuku — Autumn’s Natural Beauty
Our Inspiring Design Art Club isn’t just a creative after-school hangout — it’s where we practice and test the hands-on teachings we’ll soon be delivering in schools. It’s our creative lab, our playground, and our happy place for experimenting with ideas, materials, and imagination.
Each year, we work around a big, beautiful theme — Papatūānuku (Mother Earth) — exploring the organic beauty we can create directly from what she offers us.
This term’s focus: Autumn and the natural treasures that fall at our feet.
🕓 Fridays | 4:00 – 5:30pm | Snacks included
We’ll head outdoors to collect natural treasures — leaves, twigs, flowers, seed pods, stones — and bring them back to the studio. From there:
✨ We press and create our own handmade paper.
✨ We harvest natural clays and mud to shape plates and bowls.
✨ We imprint our collected leaves and flowers onto our clay creations.
✨ We craft unique art pieces from our paper, pottery, and wild imaginations.
It’s a term of messy play, earthy hands, and creative hearts — learning natural techniques kids can keep doing at home with whānau.
Curious? Come along to our Open Day — April 27th Sunday 12-2pm see what it’s all about, meet the team, and sign up for a full term of earthy, hands-on, creative fun.
Limited spots available.
